Nos commémorations 2023 viennent de se terminer. Elles se sont déroulées dans
les meilleures conditions, mise à part l’impossibilité de traverser la Bidassoa
samedi, le niveau du fleuve étant trop élevé au point de passage historique de
San Miguel.

Commemorative Comète weekend finished months ago, you'd be right! (Covid struck
your scribe - Geoff - a glancing blow and recovery was a lot slower than he expected. GC) We had ideal conditions - apart from the impossibility of crossing
the Bidassoa on Saturday, the level of the river being too high at the historic
crossing point at San Miguel.

La cérémonie de la place Lamothe, parfaitement organisée par la Mairie, nous
a frappés par sa solennité empreinte de sobriété.
The ceremony at la place
Lamothe, perfectly organised by the Town Hall, Anglet, struck the right
note of solemnity and dignity.
le samedi 9 septembre
90 marcheurs ont participé à notre marche depuis Socoa jusqu’à Biriatou.
Cérémonie très émouvante aux stèles. Impossibilité de traverser la Bidassoa -
beaucoup trop dangereuse. Grand pique - nique sur le fronton de Biriatou organisé
par nos amis de Guipuzkoa.
90 walkers took part in our walk
from Socoa to Biriatou. Very moving ceremony at the memorials to Count Antoine
d’Ursel and 2nd Lt James F Burch USAAF. Crossing the Bidassoa was
deemed to be high risk and so the picnic site was changed to the fronton at
Biriatou, well organised by our friends from Guipuzkoa.
Le dimanche 10 septembre
130 personnes ont participé à la marche et à l’hommage très emouvant rendu
à Paco Iriarte à Sarobe.

followers – gathered together at Sarobe farm where a very moving tribute was paid
to Paco Iriarte.
